Best Practices Virtual Chat
Tuesday, September 29

@ 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Calling all parents of exceptional kids! We would love for you to join us for ECC’s first virtual parent chat! We are going to discuss best practices we have learned as parents for our students that are receiving services and accommodations in GCISD. This could include students learning remotely or in-person in gifted education, special education, and those with 504 plans or IEPs. Although our children and services may be different, we may find commonalities in the ways we are finding to help our students. Let’s get together to share best practices we have learned as parents, get fresh ideas, and offer support to each other! Also, if you have ideas for best practices you would like to share during our chat, please email Jana Null at ecc@gcisdcouncilofptas.org.

With a remote start to the school year, parents likely have many questions about special services. The ECC hosted a virtual Lunch & Learn with GCISD staff:

  • Dr. Brad Schnautz, Deputy Superintendent
  • Dr. JoAnn Wiechmann, Executive Director of Special Education
  • Ashley Groppel, Special Services Coordinator
  • Amy Montemayer, Literacy Intervention Coordinator
  • Tiffany Cunningham, Director of Student Services
