On Friday, 10/27/17 the Silver Lake PTA hosted their annual Fall Festival. This year the PTA made it a goal to celebrate the various cultures that are represented on our campus. The evening was full of games, music, dancing, and food that was served by many of our moms. In addition, our Hispanic parents shared the tradition of Dia de los Muertos with all who attended. This celebration is an opportunity to remember and celebrate loved ones who have passed away, but are not forgotten. The evening was well attended and enjoyed by ALL.
Silver Lake PTA also sponsored its first Boosterthon which resulted in a very profitable fundraiser. The fundraising goal was $15,000 and they exceeded that goal which resulted in a final tally of more then $21,000. While the fundraiser will provide much needed funds to support PTA’s ongoing work for students and teachers, the additional benefits from Boosterthon should be celebrated. During the fundraiser students received daily lessons on positive character traits and also the benefits of being healthy and making good choices that culminated in a school-wide fun run. Truly this was a memorable experience for all involved!
